February 13, 2009 Kylie Turned 5 years Old!!

Kylie's b-day outfit from Grandma Sandy

At Kylies school today they asked if I wanted to come and spotlight her and bring baby pictures of her for her birthday. My mom and sister were wanting to take Kylie out for a birthday lunch so they ended up coming to traverse with me and surprised Kylie. I got to tell Kylie's school class about her and things that she likes. It was really fun, and then we took her to lunch at the "Panda Bear" restaurant.

This year Kylie had the hardest time deciding what to do for her b-day party! She finally decided that she wanted to invite all of her school friends over for a lot of fun games at her house. Since there were 15 little munchkins I divided them into 4 groups of five and we rotated through different games. We played pin the tail on the donkey, Kylie Bingo with conversation hearts, musical chairs, and unwrap the candy using gardening gloves and a fork and knife. Then at the end we had a pinata for all the kids to play together. It was so much fun and the small group thing worked great!

15 Crazy b-day friends!

Mom had to hold my pinata, he,he!

The Big 5!!

Thanks for all of my nice presents!

After the party I figured the least I could go was to feed my birthday helpers so Nate brought back some cheese pizza's (Kylie's favorite) and we enjoyed each other's company without all the caious.(sp)

Laycee playing "Dress Up"
Oh my goodness, I have the silliest one year old ever!! Laycee is so funny she is always doing something so funny! Today she found the dress up clothes in the closet and because her big sisters were dressing up, well she wanted to dress up too. So whatever she brought me I put it on her and this is what she turned out like. She was so happy she was running around the playroom, spinning, and dancing like a princess. She kept this little outfit on for a good 3 hours at least. Laycee is always looking up to her sisters.

Early b-day present for Kylie from Grandma Cochran
Kylie's 5th birthday is coming up and she loves to sing and dance to music. Grandma Cochran called me up one morning and told me that she wanted to get Kylie a piano and piano lessons for her birthday, is that O.K.? I thought why not, I think Kylie will really enjoy piano. So later that day there was a loud knock on the door and Kylie answered it and then man asked, "Are you Kylie Cochran?" and she said "yeah?" and he said, "I have a special delivery for you." and he got the piano and brought it inside and Kylie was so excited!! Later that afternoon Elaine brought over some piano books and everyday I help Kylie learn a new song. Her favorite to play is Old McDonald because she can sing and play at the same time. Thank You Grandma Cochran!

Happy New Year!!

New Year's Day we took advantage of Daddy being home from work and built a "snow cave."(that's what the girls called it) They claim they are going to sleep in it tonight.

New Year's Eve we were going to have some friends over for games and fireworks, but our family has been having a bug going around since Christmas Eve. So instead of getting our friends sick we stayed home, had pizza, watched movies and played games until mid-night and then Nate made us a fire in our fire pit outside and he let off a bunch of illegal fireworks left over from the 4th of July. The girls thought the mortars were a little freaky and we had a couple of close calls. Boys like such SCARY things!

Christmas Break, so many things to do!

Wow! What a long break we have had. We have been able to do so many things, but to be honest I am running out of things to do. It's weird having my kids home all day every day, I'm used to them being at school half of the day. We hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and have enjoyed having your children at home as much as I have.
